About FBIIC

Accomplishments

Working with appropriate members of financial institution regulatory agencies FBIIC has accomplished the following:

• We provided key federal and state financial regulators with secure telecommunications equipment for use in a crisis, and we are adding a capacity for encrypted e-mail;
• We wrote emergency communications procedures allowing communication between financial regulators and Federal, state, and local stakeholders;
• We worked through the FBIIC to systematically identify critical financial infrastructures, assess vulnerabilities within the critical financial infrastructure, addressing vulnerabilities, and finally evaluate our progress;
• We are currently identifying the infrastructure that is critical to the retail payments system, the insurance industry, and the housing finance industry.
